Infertility and Fertility Treatment
You didn’t expect it to take this long.
You didn't expect to have to learn this much about your own body: ovulation windows, hormone levels, what a follicle count means, and still not know when, or if, this is going to work.
Every month runs on the same loop: hope, waiting, and then the disappointment of finding out it didn't happen this time, followed almost immediately by the need to start hoping again for next month.
Nobody prepared you for how exhausting that cycle is, or how long it can go on.
We get it.
You don't have to explain the basics here. We're familiar with the terminology, the procedures, the way this process moves and stalls and makes you ride a rollercoaster of interventions and emotions. What we want to understand is how it's affecting you, specifically. We want to know what's hardest right now, what you need help with that you haven't said out loud yet.
Some of what comes up in this work is grief, even when nothing has technically been "lost" yet, at least not in the way other people can necessarily recognize. Some of it is the toll this takes on you day to day: the appointments eating into your work schedule, the mental math of another cycle, another decision, another round of waiting. We make room for the parts of this that don't have anywhere else to go like resentment, envy, exhaustion and the sense that you could lose yourself in this process.
We'll also talk about your relationship, if that's helpful. Fertility struggles put real pressure on a partnership thanks to different coping styles, different levels of hope at different moments, decisions that have to be made together even when you have completely different physical realties. That strain is common. It doesn't mean something is wrong with you as a couple and we can help with communication and planning as you navigate this together.
● Dreading the question "so when are you having kids?" from someone who “got pregnant the first time on accident”
● Scrolling past pregnancy announcements and feeling a flash of anger or jealousy, followed immediately by guilt for feeling that way
● The personal and relational strain of turning sex into a scheduled, clinical task
● The forced flexibility infertility treatment requires of your schedule
● Feeling like your whole identity has narrowed down to this one unresolved thing
You might recognize some of this:
We can't promise you a baby. We can help you navigate everything infertility struggles have put you through. We’ll be a steady support when things feel impossible. You can say any and all of it, we’ve heard and helped many families just like yours.
